Our Statistical Science Team provides specialist statistical expertise and guidance to our research teams working in a wide range of fields across the organisation including new cultivar development, sustainable production systems, residue-free methods of pest and disease control, food innovation and premium quality seafood with minimal environmental impact.
Within the Team we have an exciting career opportunity for a Statistical Scientist to undertake high impact analyses and propose statistically sound designs, working closely with other scientists and industry partners and potentially, leading research projects.
As a minimum you’ll have a postgraduate degree or advanced diploma in statistics, mathematics, computer science or a related discipline and experience in the analysis of biological data, preferably in a research-based organisation. Well-developed communication and relationship skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of diverse staff is essential. While the preferred location for this full-time position is at Lincoln (Christchurch), applications from candidates seeking to work flexible or part-time hours, or be based at other Plant & Food Research sites will be considered.
