The Mathematical Sciences Department, Auckland University of Technology is advertising two positions:
1) Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Statistics/Analytics;
2) Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Mathematics.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences within the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at AUT is seeking to appoint a permanent lecturer or permanent senior lecturer in the area of Statistics/Analytics. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and a track record of research success in Statistics or a closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates with strong research and teaching interests in statistical data analysis, multivariate analysis or Bayesian statistics. Experience with advanced topics in analytics and consulting to business and industry as well as expertise with software packages such as SAS and R is required to support the Department’s recent developments in these areas.
Closing date for applications is 31 October 2018. The start date will be in February 2019 or by negotiation.
The position involves conducting high-quality research and the teaching and development of undergraduate and in postgraduate courses in the department’s highly successful Analytics programmes. A successful applicant will be expected to contribute to research and postgraduate supervision in analytics area(s) through her/his specialist field. The salary level offered, and related workload conditions will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences has academic programmes with majors in Analytics, Applied Mathematics, and Astronomy as well as postgraduate programmes in Mathematical Sciences. As one of six departments within the School, the department provides a wide range of service teaching in mathematics, physics, and statistics. The School currently has 3200 equivalent full-time students and 160 permanent academic staff with approximately 200 Ph.D. students.
